In a shocking incident, a woman was molested and her husband was punched and kicked in Kolkata for allegedly parking their car in a no-parking zone near a hotel on Tuesday, reported India Today.

The incident allegedly took place near Gol Mandir on Elgin Road in Kolkata where the couple and their child had come on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

The report said that when the couple reached the car after visiting the temple, two men came out of the hotel and started beating up the husband. But when the woman tried to intervene, the goons proceeded to molest and grope her. One of them reportedly appeared to be intoxicated, said the report.

However, when the wife who had also clicked pictures of the goons asked a traffic sergeant to help, she was advised to wait for local police to arrive.

The woman claimed that when the police arrived, they took the two suspects into the hotel after which they disappeared.

"We have filed an FIR with the Bhawanipore police station. (But) the role of the police personnel who came to spot is questionable. How come the accused disappeared after the police came there and took them to interrogate. I am in a state of shock," said the woman.
