West Bengal Urban Developement department to launch website on Tagore

The West Bengal Urban Development department is ready to come up with a website on the biography on Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, a senior official in the government said today. "We've plans to launch a digital biography of Rabindranath Tagore and an agency has already been entrusted to set it up," said Debashis Sen, Principal Secretary, Urban Development department. The digitised form of the national poet's biography was scheduled to come up in six months, he said.

The online format of the biography would showcase a day-to-day timeline with audio visuals of the great poet and his work, he stated. "The website will have a dynamic home page with time-appropriate content as well as a timeline with newspaper coverage and audio-visual elements," said Sen. "It will have a customised view using full text search as well as important dates and years concerning the great poet and his work," he said. The portal would not only help researchers, scholars but also students and enthusiasts all around the world, Sen added.
