Two persons were arrested in Purulia district for their alleged links with the Jamat -ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), the organisation suspected to be involved in the October 2 Burdwan blast. Purulia Superintendent of Police Nilkanta Sudhir Kumar said Toyeb Ansari and Kurban Ansari were arrested from Seiz village under Kashipur police station.
"Ten handwritten leaflets of the JMB were found at Nimtala area under Hura police station in the district yesterday and the two are allegedly connected to those leaflets," the police said. Local people had found the bunch of leaflets and informed the police that were investigating the matter and the two were arrested on Sunday, the SP said. The arrested were produced before the Purulia sub -divisional judicial magistrate's court, which remanded them to judicial custody for ten days. The October 2 blast at Khagragarh locality of Burdwan town in West Bengal killed two suspected JMB workers. The NIA has been investigating the incident.
