Two forest officials who went to catch a tiger have been found dead under mysterious circumstances in Goaltore forest in West Midnapore district of West Bengal, reports Zee 24 Ghanta.

For the last few days, the entire area is on edge over reported sightings of a tiger which has entered human locality. It's pug marks could be found in different places and on Sunday it attacked a tribal hunting party, injuring one person. The person had to take eight stitches. So the forest officials decided to intervene to catch the tiger. Two forest officials kept a trap for the tiger on Monday night and were patiently waiting for it. They were prepared with conventional guns and tranquilliser guns.

But villagers were in for a rude shock, when they found two officials dead outside the trap cage. However, there were no marks on the bodies of the two deceased officers. Thus, the preliminary theory is that they died due to lack of oxygen.

Police is probing the deaths currently. However this has only lead to escalation of tension in Goaltore village. The villagers desperately want the big cat to be nabbed so that they can travel without fear.
