After a missionary school in Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal received threat letters, miscreants broke into Delhi Public School at Asansol on Thursday night.
A mob of 50 people broke into the school on the National Highway 2 and ransacked classrooms and the principal’s office. They went on a rampage and vandalised five school buses and three school vehicles.
The school authorities have filed a complaint with the Salanpur Police Station of Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate. The police are investigating the matter and no arrests have been made so far. The Deputy Commissioner (headquarters) refused to speak to this correspondent over this matter.
Meanwhile, students and their parents, including teachers are protesting outside the school demanding punishment for the accused.
