Mojammel was one of the three persons killed at Makra village under Parui police station during a turf war between workers of Trinamool Congress and BJP on October 27 when prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC in force there.

Sadai Sheikh was arrested last night from Bharkata village under Mohammad Bazar police station in the district last night, the police said. Sadai was remanded to 12 days police custody by a special court.
Mojammel's family members had lodged an FIR naming 23 persons, including Sadai, in connection with the killing.

Sadai was also allegedly involved in a case in which the officer-in-charge of Parui police station was attacked and injured at Choumandalpur village on October 24, three days before to the Makra clash. The police raided the village after being informed that bombs were being manufactured there.
