West Bengal: Furious mob attacks police in Birbhum, torches police jeep

A furious mob attacked police in Birbhum district of West Bengal on Friday.

After a road traffic accident took place in the Majhipara area of Birbhum, police reached the spot to take stock of the situation. Immediately, a mob attacked those police officers at the spot and torched the jeep.

Later, the mob advanced towards the Mayureshwar police station and ransacked it. The agitators later blocked the road and when police attempted the removal of the road blockade, they were attacked and another police jeep was torched.

Meanwhile, the district police has registered a case on the matter.
