BJP candidate Rupa Ganguly who is contesting from North Howrah constituency, lost her cool during the elections on Monday. She was captured in a video pushing a TMC female worker. Now an FIR has been filed against her, reports ANI.

The BJP candidate was reportedly receiving complaints of booth jamming by workers of the ruling party on Monday. When Rupa Ganguly went to one such booth, she was surrounded by TMC workers and chaos ensued. "In many booths, the person who is responsible for refreshing the EVM is intoxicated, can't see, or is inactive," she alleged.

An angry war of words took place and suddenly losing patience, Rupa shoved a TMC polling agent. The situation became further hostile after this and finally, BJP workers took her away from the spot.

An FIR has now been lodged against Rupa Ganguly. The Election Commission has also taken cognizance of the incident. EC has urged its officers to keep a tab on Rupa Ganguly's activities through the day.

Rupa Ganguly has had several run-in with workers of the ruling party since the time she took the plunge into active politics. Her firebrand image has made her popular with grassroot BJP workers but has attracted the ire of TMC. TMC leader Abdur Rezzak Mollah recently made indecent comments against her, creating a massive uproar. He apologised later.

The fourth phase of the Assembly elections, which began at 7 am on Monday amid tight security arrangements, is being held on 33 seats of North 24 Parganas and 16 seats of Howrah districts.
