Lashing out at the Trinamool Congress regime for allegedly trying to stop BJP president Amit Shah's rally on Sunday in the city, the party's national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh today said Shah would sound the bugle for the 2016 Assembly elections in the state.

"Amit Shahji will sound the bugle for the 2016 Assembly polls in order to make West Bengal TMC free after 2016 polls," Singh said. "This (green signal by local authorities for the rally) is a victory of the masses. The anarchic TMC regime was trying to stop the rally but they have been given a befitting reply," Singh said.

Shah's rally was on Saturday granted green signal by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the state fire department. The Calcutta High Court on Friday appointed two special officers to ensure compliance of fire services and municipal rules for the meeting. The BJP moved the High Court thrice in order to get permission to hold the rally.
