Wedding festivities turn into mourning as two children die after falling off terrace in Madhya Pradesh

Two children died on Friday in Bhagori village here in Mandsaur after falling off the roof of a house where a marriage ceremony was underway, police said.

The two, identified as three-and-half-year-old Urmila and three-year-old Dilip, had climbed on to the roof while others in the house were assembled on the ground floor and were busy with the marriage function, said Varsingh Katara, sub-inspector, Shamgarh police station.

The incident plunged the household and the village into grief, the official said.

A case of accidental death had been registered and further investigations were underway, he said.
