Cyber Police Station at Lalbazar, Kolkata Police headquarters has swung into action to restore website operations.

Websites of several colleges across Kolkata were hacked on Friday.
Authorities at Ram Mohan College, Maharaja Manindra College, Anandamohan College realised that their website was hacked after black flags appeared on the screen and ‘Virushacker', a Pakistani hacker claimed the responsibility.
The hackers defaced the college websites by planting images of a burning Indian flag and posted slogans like ‘Shiv Sena Murdabad’ and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ on the site.
Meanwhile, Cyber Police Station at Lalbazar, Kolkata Police headquarters has swung into action to restore website operations.
“We have learnt that colleges websites at large have been hacked. We are trying to identify as to how many of them in total have been hacked. So far, not a single college authorities have registered any complaint with us, but we have started an investigation into the case and will try to restore operations as soon as possible,” said a senior official of Cyber Police Station at Lalbazar.
