Mayawati the party supremo of the Bahujan Samaj Party has lashed out yet again at Narendra Modi and his BJP led government.

In a press conference Friday, she addressed the issue of the power crisis in UP, she said that except for their (Samajwadi Party) family constituencies, rest of the state is suffering from major power crisis.

Mayawati, whose party won no seats in the Lok Sabha in the 2014 elections, has been placing blame on a number of different factors with regard to her devastating loss one of them being Amit Shah's inflammatory speeches.

She has been quoted as having said, "By showing terror and talks can go hand in hand, Modi also sang the same tune, like Manmohan Singh."

This was in reference to Narendra Modi's and Nawaz Sharif's highly publicised meeting. She goes on to say that the outcome of this discussion and its repercussions is something the entire nation should think about. She states that an answer to this problem is neither in Narendra Modi nor in the BJP's grasp as of yet.

The BSP supremo, who has been vying for Presidential Rule in UP for the past year hopes that this time the Governor will be more aware and carry forward her cause. She even says with reference to Modi's development driven agenda that, "We've heard a great deal about development but haven't seen any results on the ground yet."

Toward the end of the conference, Mayawati also brought up the issue of Smriti Irani being appointed as the HRD Minister and mentioned that her lack of appropriate qualification for the post.

The BSP won the third highest number of collective votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and yet didn't manage to secure any Lok Sabha seats. Uttar Pradesh which had for the longest time been a Congress bastion was completely overtaken by the BJP-SP alliance.
