On his maiden 'Mission Jammu and Kashmir' post the collapse of the PDP-led government, BJP president Amit Shah said the discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh regions in developmental activities, and killing of soldiers and a popular editor were some of the reasons for his party's decision to pull out of the alliance in the restive state.

Going all guns blazing, Shah also asked Congress president to apologize to the nation for the remarks made by the leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saifuddin Soz and vowed that the BJP will never allow secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the country.

"When a government falls, political parties express regret. It is only the BJP that when government falls they welcome it by raising slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. This shows BJP is a party of patriots and for us, the government is not important. For us, the security and development of Jammu and Kashmir is the only consideration", said Shah addressing a rally in Jammu amid thunderous applause.

Listing the reasons for pulling out of the PDP led government, Shah said they waited for four years for the balanced development and the restoration of peace but it proved to be a mirage.

"A time came when Army jawan Aurangzeb was abducted and killed. An editor was murdered. India is a democracy and any editor has the independence to write anything.. Stones were given in the hands of youth. The attack on army jawans and security personnel increased by the day," he said.

On the development front, Shah said, Narendra Modi government gave money, around Rs 80,000 crore, and schemes but discrimination continued against Jammu and Ladakh.

"We did send money but it did not trickle down, Schemes were not implemented. Gradually development of Jammu and Ladakh went for a toss. So we thought if it could not happen while being in the government then it is better to oppose it while sitting in the opposition", he said.

Shah noted that the government with PDP was formed on three basic points mentioned in the Common Minimum Programme. "There will be balanced development of all the three regions in J&K. Whatever development Kashmir will have, same shall be made in Jammu and Ladakh. The second government will end the separatism and terrorism and ensure peace in the state. And third, Jammu and Kashmir will be an integral part of the country", he said.

The BJP chief accused the Mehbooba Mufti government of creating obstacles in the rehabilitation of migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley. "The BJP-led central government has zero tolerance for terrorism. Security forces should be allowed to carry on their work. I have full faith in our army and security forces. Our enemy is against peace and development and our security forces will foil their conspiracy."
