Two Indian jewellers have set a Guiness World Record for 'most diamonds set in one ring' by creating a lotus-shaped ring that has 6,690 diamonds skilfully placed into an 18 carat rose gold structure.

The masterpiece was created by Vishal Agarwal and Khushbu Agarwal, who are based in Gujarat's Surat. The extravagant ring was created using a base component and 48 individual diamond encrusted petals that weighs around 58 grams. The price of the elegant ring is $4,116,787.

It took six months to create this lavish ring by Vishal, who designed the ring, and Khushbu, who funded and provided the resources to set the world record.

"As fame is so much attached to a Guinness World Records title, we can put it to good use by bringing together like-minded people to work towards a beautiful world," Guiness World Records quoted Vishal and Khushbu as saying.

The lotus ring surpassed Savio Jewellery's 'Peacock Ring' Guiness record in 2015 with 3,827 cut diamonds.

It is to be noted that Vishal and Khushbu created the ring to raise awareness of water conservation. They used the lotus flower design as it is the national flower of India and depicts "the beauty growing in the water-world".
