Earlier this month, Shimla- Kalka National Highway was blocked due to a landslide in Jabli near Parwanoo and Dharampur blocking the traffic.
The increase in number of landslides is due to the ongoing road widening work on the Chandigarh Shimla Highway.
With the onset of monsoon, the region experienced rain earlier than expected which makes the Highway more prone to landslides.
Construction work on making a four lane highway is in full swing under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
