Singh was killed in heavy firing by Pakistan in RS Pura sector.

The cremation of BSF martyr Jitendra Singh, who was killed in Pakistani firing, took place at his native Raxaul near Motihari in Bihar on Saturday. Gun salutes were paid to the jawan during the ceremony.
Singh was killed in heavy firing from across the border on October 27. He was the third BSF jawan to be killed in firing and shelling by Pakistani Rangers in RS Pura sector in the past few days. Head constable Sushil Kumar was killed on October 24. Constable Gurnam Singh, who foiled an infiltration bid by heavily armed militants in Bobiya area of Kathua district, was injured on Friday in a sniper attack and died on Saturday night.
Family members paid their respects to the slain soldier during the cremation ceremony.

The Bihar government announced Rs 11 lakh compensation for the family. V Chandra
The Border Security Force (BSF) had on Friday paid tributes to Singh. A wreath-laying ceremony was organised at the Jammu frontier camp of BSF at Paloura.
BSF ADG (Western Command) Arun Kumar, BSF IG (Jammu) D K Upadhayay and CRPF IG Pankaj Kumar were among those who paid floral tribute to the martyr on this occasion.
Arun Kumar said that BSF has the history of bravery and always committed to ensure sanctity of international border and safety security of the border population. "This brave act has once again proved that border men sacrifice their lives when it comes to security of the nation," he said.
