The Mumbai police doesn't have it easy. Day in and day out, you see the cops monitoring traffic, taking complaints and dealing with a stessful life, without taking a break.

And yet, we're not appreciative of the work they do. When there is traffic, we blame it on the cops; when they ask us for a bribe, we question their ethics; and when things go wrong with the law and order situation, we immediately point figers at them.

However, there are stories and accomplishments done by the cops that make us question our attitude towards them. A video of a woman constable helping an elderly couple during Mumbai's torrential rains has gone viral on social media.

The incident has been reported from Hindmata area, where six inches of water logging has been reported.

The video shows the couple, holding a child - presumably thier grandchild and wading through the floods. A constable, who is watching the entire incident, immediately rushes to their aid.

The heartwarming video has received a lot of praise from people on social media.

Earlier, Mumbai woke up to a maniac morning on Monday, with heavy rains lashing the city for the fourth day in a row. The rain did not provide any respite, prompting the state education department to declare that all education institutions, including schools and colleges will remain shut on Monday.

A number of residents chose to not venture out due to the heavy downpour, prefering to work from home.

However, for those who did step out, it was a problematic day, as train services on both Western and Central Line were delayed by at least half an hour.

At Nallasopara, which is in the northermost part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), in Palghar district, the railway station, which is an integral part of Mumbai's Western Railway, the water levels went 180 mm above the rail level, prompting delayed services and cancellation of several trains. As a precautionary measure, trains going towards Virar and heading north into Gujarat on the fast line were halted. The other three lines were still running, albeit some delays, Western Railway tweeted.

Several areas have reported water-logging of at least one feet. Areas such as King's Circle, Sathe Bridge, Suman Nagar, Mulund-Sonapur junction, Kurla Kajupada, Anand Nagar on Dahisar Link Road are some of the areas mentioned.

Meanwhile, traffic has been diverted due o water logging at Andheri subway. The south-bound traffic at Bahar bridge in Andheri is moving slow due to potholes on Sahar elevated corridor. Waterlogging has been reported at Hindmata junction, south-bound after Kalanagar bridge in Bandra and north-bound near Kherwadi junction in the same area have also witnessed water-logging.
