Watch: Heartwarming rescue of baby elephant trapped in well in Andhra Pradesh

The village of Ramakuppan came together to rescue a baby elephant trapped in a well.

A group of people from the village of Ramakuppan in Andhra Pradesh rescued a baby elephant trapped in deep well.

The little on fell into the a dried-up well as it was wandering through the village at night, according to reports. The locals reported 25 larger elephants approached the scene, when they helpless youngster's cry.

In the video, it is evident the people in the village were doing everything they could to get the elephant to safety. Forest officials eventually took stepped in and after four hours eventually suceeded in getting the elephant out.

The footage of the rescue shows rescue workers used a digger to move the soil inorder to form a path for the elephant to crawl up. Crowds cheered on as the elephant managed to climb up to safety.

Trackers managed to reunite the baby elephant with its herd.
