After the 'eleven Jinping' controversy, Doordarshan is back in the news for the unintentional hilarity that a clueless reporter offered at the 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

Social media was abuzz on Thursday after the video of a Doordarshan reporter covering the film festival went viral on the Internet. The reporter, who identified herself as Aaina Pahuja, asked a series of hilarious questions and recorded some startlingly inane piece-to-cameras in between her interactions with famous guests at the event.

As if merely asking "How do you do?" to every guest who appeared in front of her wasn't enough, she went on to commit gaffes like asking famous Hong Kong actor Tony Leung of Chungking Express fame if he watched movies. Clearly unaware of the people she was attempting to interview like Chinese actress Zhang Zyi and legendary ad man Prahlad Kakkar, she then proceeded to introduce Goa's Governor Mridula Sinha as the 'Governor of India'.

Attempting to attribute the success of a festival which was in its 45th year, to the achhe din ushered in by Narendra Modi, the reporter goes on to say that she was being "enlightened every second at the festival". Although candidly admitting her lack of research and that she "didn't know much about the films and stuffs in depth", her claim that "my knowledge is something that I carry everywhere I go" obviously needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

The Narendra Modi government has ambitious plans to bring Doordarshan to the level of the best public broadcasters in the world, but till then, watch this piece of hilarity.
