Controversial Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal has again courted attention for his speech during a teacher's conference.

Birbhum district TMC President Mondal while addressing the conference issued a veiled threat to Madrasa teachers, reported Zee 24 Ghanta. While he started the speech saying that the government is doing its best to improve madrasa education in the district, he soon changed track. Anubrata said that he is aware of how many people are badmouthing the TMC supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. He said to the teachers but don't dare to spread canards against Mamata Banerjee. Anubrata Mondal said that he wouldn't tolerate any criticism against the West Bengal CM.

Later in the speech he says that he doesn't expect everyone to support TMC, but don't criticise the party or the government. He 'advised' teachers to 'keep silent' if they don't like TMC's work.

Last month, Anubrata had created stir by threatening to break legs of opposition leaders. The party later clarified that they don't support such comments.

Mondal alleged that Leader of Opposition Abdul Mannan and senior CPI-M leader Bikash Bhattacharya were trying to "play dirty politics" with land near Bolpur in Birbhum district where the state government has decided to set up a university and housing project. "I don't know who is Mannan or who is a big CPI-M leader. If they come again their legs will be broken", Mondol, who is the TMC Birbhum district president had said in front of the police.
