Watch: Women of Kerala changed to criminals of Kerala- How Brinda Karat's election speech got lost in translation

It was just a few months back that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in Kerala was horribly translated by BJP leader  K Surendran. Now it's the turn of Brinda Karat, the politburo member of the CPM and a Rajya Sabha MP. A local CPI(M) leader got translation horribly wrong even referring to 'criminals of Kerala' when Karat mentioned 'women of Kerala'! 

A local CPM leader's translation of Brinda Karat's speech has gone viral on social media thanks to the terrible job he did. Karat started talking about the rape and murder of the the law student in Perumbavoor but is looks like the translator added his own thoughts to the translation. And Karat corrected him stating that she didn't state that. She said, "Kurachu kurachu Malayalam ariyam." (I can understand a little bit of Malayalam)

Then she goes on to say, "And it is only through these multiple efforts…." The translator goes on to state in Malayalam, "It is only possible through ballot papers."  Something was clearly lost in translation here.

Karat then adds, "But the shame of it is, my dear friends." The translator doesn't see to understand what she is saying here and Karat repeats what she said. Seeing how things were not going well for the translator, Karat started to add bits and pieces of Malayalam as she spoke. When Karat said 'women of Kerala' he translated it as 'criminals of Kerala'.
