Wanting to be put into same jail cell, prisoners climb tree

Wanting to put into the same jail cell, three prisoners on Tuesday climbed atop a tree on the campus of the Central Jail, creating flutter for some time.

Jail sources said, Karthik and Manoj Kumar of Coimbatore and Nagaraj of Thanjavur, involved in some dacoity cases, were put in the same cell. However, due to their misbehaviour, they were separated and put in different cells on Monday.

When all the prisoners were brought out for breakfast on Tuesday, the three climbed atop a tree and seeking the authorities to put them in the same cell.

The prison officials managed to convince them and brought them down, the sources said.
