"AAP has been saying many things which probably was only for the sake of publicity and not that they believe in those things. Today, after two months in government, they have become the worst example of whatever they were criticising in the past, whether it is VVIP culture or whether all the unhealthy things in politics which they were criticising. Today, they stand as examples of the same. So, I do not think that people can expect anything from AAP, rather the people of Delhi, the voters of Delhi have been deceived by the AAP," Chacko said.
On Sunday, the chief of the Delhi unit of the Congress Party, Ajay Maken, had mocked the AAP and Chief Minister Kejriwal for 'behaving like VIPs' during the launch of 1031 anti-corruption helpline at the Talkatora Stadium.
"I was passing near Talkatora Stadium where the AAP was hosting a program. I saw that the party, which calls itself the common man party and says that it wants to end VIP culture, had made separate entries for VIP and VVIP card holders," Maken said.
"Have the AAP members become VIPs within 50 days of their being elected to power?" he asked.
Hitting back at Maken, Aam Aadmi Party leader Dilip Pandey accused the Congress of 'holding on' to the VIP culture for decades.
"The people who are accusing us of VIP culture must introspect a little. Then they will find that they are the ones holding the VIP culture together for years and decades now. We have only broken these boundaries after coming to power," Pandey said.
