Owing to space constraints, the Gautam Budh Nagar administration has shifted the vote-counting centre in the district from Noida flower market to Panchsheel Balak Inter College.

District Magistrate NP Singh today held a meeting with the candidates of various political parties and informed them that the vote-counting centre has been shifted.

BJP candidate from Dadri Tejpal Nagar, BJP candidate from Jewar Dhirendra Singh and BSP candidate from Noida Ravi Kant Mishra were present at the meeting, while the other candidates had sent their representatives.

Currently, the electronic voting machines (EVMs) are kept at the Noida flower market where counting of votes was supposed to be taken up initially. But, keeping the space constraints in mind, a decision was taken to shift the vote-counting centre to Panchsheel Balak Inter College, informed the DM.

The three Assembly constituencies of Gautam Budh Nagar district went to the polls in the first phase of the ongoing seven-phase Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls on February 11.

Counting of votes will be taken up on March 11.
