Mumbai: VOC tower in Dharavi catches fire, no injuries reported

The fire started in the flat of the fourth floor in the VOC tower located near Kamraj School in Kamala Nehru Nagar, Dharavi.

A residential building in VOC tower, Dharavi caught fire on Monday around 3.30 pm.

Four fire engines are on the spot and residents of the high rise are being rescued. As of now no injuries are reported.  

According to primary information, the fire broke into a flat of the fourth floor in the VOC tower located near Kamraj School in Kamala Nehru Nagar, Dharavi. 

However, no one from the family was present in the house when the fire broke. While all the residents in the tower rushed out from their homes when they saw the fumes coming from the fourth floor flat. 

BMC official said, “We have sent the fire engines and rescue operation is on. While cause of fire is not known yet”.
