Maharashtra BJP MLA Raju Narayan Todsam on Tuesday was thrashed by his first wife and her supporters after he attended a sports event with his second wife. Todsam was attending the inauguration of a Kabaddi tournament when he was attacked by his first wife, Archana Todsam, and her supporters. She was reportedly angry that he was attending a public event with his second wife, Priya Shinde Todsam.

Archana Todsam reached the venue of the event with Todsam’s mother and some supporters and thrashed the MLA and his second wife. A video clip of the family drama, which was shot by the onlookers, went viral.
Reports said Archana attacked the second wife and then turned on her husband when he tried to intervene.

Following the incident, Narayan Todsam's act for attending a public event with his second wife is being severely condemned, since he is yet to settle the dispute and give justice to his first wife, who is a tribal school teacher.

Vasantra Naik Sheti Swavalamban Samiti chairman Kishore Tiwari termed Todsam's behavior shameless and a violation of decency. He said that Todsam first must give justice to his first wife, with whom he has been married for eight years and has two children.

BJP's tribal wing chief Ankit Maitam said that Narayan Todsam has brought embarrassment to the party. She went on to say that if he doesn't give justice to his first wife then he shall not be allowed to share the dais at a women’s empowerment programme with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday. She also said he should be denied a ticket to contest in the coming elections, since tribal and especially women voters are feeling disheartened over his behavior.

Since the matter was reported to police, both the wives of Narayan Todsam have agreed to settle the dispute mutually, and have decided not to lodge a formal complaint.
