Violence in Birbhum district of West Bengal; police vehicle allegedly bombed

One person was killed and several injured in a fierce clash between alleged supporters of Trinamool Congress and BJP in West Bengal.

According to reports, the clashes broke out between supporters of the two parties for control over Makra village. A police vehicle was also allegedly bombed.

Three days ago, on Friday, a bomb attack on a police officer in Birbhum district had sparked off a verbal duel between the Trinamool Congress and its rivals BJP and Congress, in which Prosenjit Dutta, the OC of Parui police station was injured. 

A police team has been rushed to take stock of the situation.
