Dasara or Dussehra, as you probably know it, is a majestic affair in Karnataka's Mysuru.
On the 10th day after the 9-day-long Navratri festival, Vijaya Dashami is celebrated, which marks the triumph of Maa Durga over Mahishasura according to Hindu mythology. In the Ramayana, it marks the defeat of the demon Ravana.
Often across India, effigies of the ten-headed demon is burnt, fireworks adorn the skies, streets are illuminated with lights and people come together in celebration.
Declared the state festival of Karnataka, Dasara lives up to all expectations in Mysuru.
Here are some of the photographs of Dasara from Mysuru that were shared on social media.
