Video shows Indian worker beaten up by Saudi engineer

There have been reports in the past of workers in Middle East facing uncomfortable working environments. But a recent viral video shows the torture that Indian workers face in countries like Saudi Arabia.

In the video, a man is seen beating up an Indian worker. The man is believed to be a Saudi engineer and the Indian worker reportedly works on the expansion of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, a Zee News report states. 

The two-minute video shows the Indian worker asking for mercy while being beaten up by a belt and also being spit on. The video was first shared by a Canadian journalist Tarek Fatah on social media.

The video has caught the attention of human rights organisations and reportedly stirred a debate in Saudi Arabia.
