While Pune city has been drenched in the mood of the Ganesh festival, a video of the city's famous Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandal has surfaced where a man is seen falling from the topmost height of the pandal while removing the dome of the decoration.
Mandal office bearers have also given a confirmation of the incident stating that it was a mishap that took place a few days ago. The man seen falling from a height and landing on the ground is claimed to be out of danger and is currently undergoing treatment.
The 2.25 minute long video went viral on social media on Sunday where a crane operater is seen trying to remove the dome of the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati mandal's decoration while another man is seen standing at the top of the pandal helping the operator remove the dome. In the process, somehow, the top is seen tumbling onto the ground.
When DNA contacted Mahesh Suryavanshi, treasurer of Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati trust, he confirmed saying, "The incident took place a couple of days back. The decoration was being removed in order to give clear passage to the upcoming immersion procession,."
"Work had been ongoing between 3 and 4 am late night. While the crane operator was pulling down the dome, the rope attached to the crane got tangled in the other man's leg, and he fell down," Suryavanshi added.

When DNA contacted Sanjay Pathare, director, medical services, Ruby Hall Clinic, he said, "The person was admitted on Saturday. He has sustained a head injury and his leg is also fractured. However, he is out of danger and is responding to the treatment."
Suryavanshi has stated that the Ganpati trust will be bearing all the medical expense of Jadhav.
