Senior VHP leader Praveen Togadia on Sunday ruled out protests against US President Barack Obama's visit to India, saying it was good for the country. Asked whether Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), which had been against US policies in the past, will oppose Obama's visit and hold protests, Togadia said, "Virod kyon karegi (why should we oppose)? We Indians have been welcoming businessmen since time immemorial."

"We Indian have always been welcoming businessmen, and today Obama 'dunia ke sabse bare vyapri hain (is the world's biggest businessman)'... We should sit with him so that we will also be a big 'vyapari' in future," he told reporters after addressing a 'Virat Hindu Sammelan' here.

"This (the visit) is good for India. We want India to be the biggest business country in the world. India should try to be the leader in business in the world like the USA," he said, adding "India should do hard work and bring the world's prosperity to India".

On the Ram Temple issue, Togadia said, "BJP has mentioned it in its manifesto and promised (to construct the temple in Ayodhya). I am sure Narendra Bhai will fulfil his promise."

Earlier in his address to VHP's Bajrang Dal and women activists at Adarsh Maidan in Jaipur, Togadia said, "VHP wants the Hindus' security, the country's prosperity, and to restore Indians' pride as existed thousands of year ago..." "...We will not allow religious conversion and 'Love Jihad'...," he said, demanding that there should be a Common Civil Code everywhere to stop disparity based on religion and the Kashmiri people should be enabled to return to the valley.
