On Monday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad alleged that religious conversions and 'love jihad' were taking place in Himachal Pradesh, a charge denied by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

State VHP Organising Secretary Manoj claimed that "there were numerous cases of love jihad and religious conversions but the government has no mechanism to check it".

Meanwhile Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that till now, not even a single case of 'love jihad' came to his notice but, if there was any such case, it should be brought forward so that inquiry could be conducted.

Addressing a public meeting at historic Khalini ground of Nadaun in Hamirpur district on Monday, he said that Himachal Pradesh was known for communal harmony and no one would be allowed to disturb it. Singh said that the state government was committed for providing basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps and offices of public utility with their own campuses were being opend in different parts of the state. He also laid the foundation stone of the Mini Secretariat building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.12 crore. The building will house various offices of Sub-Divisional level under one roof.

He announced Sub Tehsil for Kangu in Nadaun assembly segment and construction of primary health centre at Rail and Fahal, saying that 50 hand pumps would be installed in the constituency to meet shortage of drinking water.
