BJP leader Varun Gandhi, who is contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha election from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, today said he has come here to put an end to casteism and communalism.

"I am not here to contest elections but to put an end to casteism and communalism," he said on the second day of his 5-day visit to the constituency during which he held several public meetings in Kadipur assembly segment.

Asking the voters to view him not as a political worker but as their son or brother, Gandhi said he is contesting from Sultanpur to give a fillip to development in the constituency.
The BJP leader said he has come here hoping the power that the almighty has given him should be put to good use.

Gandhi rooted for decentralisation in the decision-making process in the political sphere.
