In a suspected case of honour killing, mutilated bodies of a young boy and a girl with their limbs cut off were found from Nanakmatta area of Udham Singh Nagar district on Monday. Hands, feet and genitals of the bodies were chopped off, said JR Joshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Udham Singh Nagar district.

The bodies were found early this morning from Nanakdam area, about 14 km from Khatima, the DSP said. Though investigations are on to identity the bodies, prima facie, it appears to be a case of honour killing, he said.

Apparently in the age group of 18-20, the victims appear to have been murdered in cold blood a couple of days ago, he said. "It seems even an attempt was made to burn the boy's body as it was partially charred," he said.

The area from where the bodies were recovered is often in the news for illicit liquor and illegal felling of trees.
