Uttarakhand elections 2017: BJP candidate from Badrinath attacked by unknown persons

Just a couple of days ahead of polling in Uttarakhand, a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Badrinath, Mahendra Bhatt, was attacked by unknown persons in early morning hours on Monday. He has been admitted to hospital.

According to The Financial Express, his main poll rival is Congress’ sitting MLA Rajendra Singh Bhandari who has won twice from the constituency. 

Bhatt is expected to ride on the Modi wave and also has the support of Satpal Maharaj who is campaigning on his behalf.

Uttarakhand will go on polls on February 15, Wednesday.
