Terming the imposition of President's rule in Uttarakhand as "cold-blooded" murder of democracy and Parliamentary traditions, senior CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjan on Sunday said BJP wants to gain power "by hook or crook". He alleged that NDA government was holding out threat of President's rule in non-BJP ruled states.

"The manner in which President rule was recommended is highly condemnable. It happened when Congress government was about to prove its majority on the floor of the House tomorrow," the CPI national secretary said.

Anjan said, BJP formed the government in Arunachal Pradesh through floor crossing and had used the same tactic in Uttrakhand.

"BJP wants to gain power by hook or crook," he alleged.
