Death toll likely to go up.

A bus carrying over 60 passengers fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand on Sunday morning. According to ANI, at least 47 people have been killed in the accident. The bus fell into the gorge in Pauri Garhwal district's Nainidanda block.
The authorities with the help of police and locals have rushed the injured to the hospital. The body count is feared to rise, according to Garhwal commissioner Dilip Jawalkar. NDRF forces have also reached the location to facilitate rescue work. The mini-bus was travelling from Ramnagar to Bhoan when the tragedy struck at Pipali-Bhoan motorway near Gween village. Most people died on spot due to high intensity of the crash when the bus fell into the 200-metre-gorge.
Pauri Superintendent of Police Jagat Ram Joshi was quoted as saying that 12 people are injured.

DIG Garhwal range Sanjay Gunjyal said, rescue operations are being carried out by the police and SDRF personnel, while senior officials have rushed to the spot. Governor K K Paul and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident and instructed the district administration to extend all help to the injured and the kin of the deceased.The state government has announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the kin of the deceased. Uttarakhand CM told ANI that compensation will be also given to the injured and their medical expenses will be taken care of. He has also promised to go to the site of the accident to take stock of the situation. CM said that he has spoken to Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and JP Nadda, who have assured of giving all possible help.
Magisterial inquiry has been ordered in the accident.The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.
