Uttar Pradesh secretariat to go paperless; move to increase efficiency and bring transparency

In a bid to increase efficiency and bring transparency in the working of its offices, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to make all departments of the secretariat paperless, a senior official said today.

Special Secretary (IT and Electronics) GS Naveen Kumar said taking an initiative for the project, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has applied to obtain digital signature.

Kumar said it has been decided to make the IT and Electronics Department paperless in the first phase and the work will be completed in two months.

A team has been constituted to achieve the objective, he said and added that the IT and Electronics Department has been made the nodal department and UP Development Systems Corporation Limited the nodal agency for the peoject.

Talking about the advantages of the system, he said after its implementation, the files of the department will be cleared in a speedy manner through the electronic mode. 

The files will be tracked easily, which will increase the efficiency of the departments.
