A principal and a teacher of an inter-college in this district has been booked for allegedly stopping a student from singing a BR Ambedkar song, police said in Saharanpur on Saturday.

A principal and a teacher of an inter-college in this district has been booked for allegedly stopping a student from singing a BR Ambedkar song, police said in Saharanpur on Saturday.

City SP, Jagdish Sharma, said a class XI student of the inter-college in Talhedi Bujurg area was singing BR Amdedkar song on the Independence Day when they stopped him in the middle and insulted him.

A team from the college was formed to inquire into the matter and prepared a report two days ago, he said. Based on that report, principal, Anoop Singh and teacher, Vidushi Tiwari have been booked under SC/ST Act, Sharma added.
