A Muslim outfit on Friday pledged its support in preventing cow slaughter and gave a memorandum to the Ghaziabad District Magistrate suggesting ways to curb the practice.

Scores of workers of Muslim Mahasabha's UP committee, led by its president Imran Khan, assembled in Ghaziabad and handed over a memorandum to District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma on checking cow slaughter. The Muslim Mahasabha has suggested various measures to check cow slaughter to the administration, Khan said.

It has suggested that all 'gaushalas' of the district should be registered and a mechanism be developed for regular audit of animals, he said. The DM assured all co-operation to the Mahasabha in curbing cow slaughter.
