Uttar Pradesh: Man strangulated to death during nephew's engagement

Family members of the deceased, Vikram Singh, alleged that persons with whom they had a long-running dispute beat him with sticks and then strangulated him.

A 50-year-old man was killed during the engagement function of his nephew when persons with whom their family had a dispute allegedly attacked them with sticks.
The incident took place in village Milak Puranpur that falls under the Dhampur police station.
Family members of the deceased, Vikram Singh, alleged that persons with whom they had a long-running dispute beat him with sticks and then strangulated him.
Circle Officer Sushil Kumar, however, said there were no signs of any injury on the body.
Dhampur Police Station in-charge Rajesh Kumar Chauhan reached the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem.
A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered, Kumar said.
The real cause of death will be known only after a post- mortem, he said.​
