Uttar Pradesh: Eleven members of a family found dead in Amethi

Additional SP of Amethi, TN Tripathi, said that all the deceased as well as Jamaluddin's wife and a baby were forced to consume some mysterious liquid.

Eleven members, including two women and eight girls, of a family were found dead in a Amethi village here, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Mahona West village under Bazar Shukul police station area in the district.

Additional SP of Amethi, T N Tripathi, said throats of ten deceased were found slit while Jamaluddin, the head of the family, was found hanging from the ceiling.

Jamaluddin's wife, Afsarbano, and a baby have been admitted in a community health centre at Jagdishpur, he said.

"All the deceased as well as Jamaluddin's wife and a baby were forced to consume some mysterious liquid," Tripathi said quoting the woman.

SP, SK Singh, said that everything will be clear after the postmortem reports.

DIG Faizabad division R C Sahu and DM of Amethi C K Pandey also visited the spot.
