#UriAttack: Pakistan is a terrorist state; should be identified & isolated as such, says Rajnath Singh

Stating that he was deeply distressed at the terror incident in Uri and the loss of 17 brave soldiers martyred, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that "Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such."

Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such, said Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday, after 17 Indian Army jawans were killed in terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri.

17 jawans were killed and 19 others were injured after heavily armed militants attacked Army's headquarters in North Kashmir's Uri town.

On Twitter, Rajnath Singh said, "Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such. There are definite and conclusive indications that the perpetrators of Uri attack were highly trained, heavily armed and specially equipped."

The Home Minister also said that he was he was "deeply disappointed with Pakistan’s continued and direct support to terrorism and terrorist groups."

"Deeply distressed at the terror incident in Uri and the loss of 17 brave soldiers martyred. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers. Those behind this terror incident would be brought to justice," he said.

Earlier in the day, condemning the 'cowardly' terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that those behind the 'despicable' strike wouldn't go unpunished.

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh also chaired a meeting to review the security situation. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, Defence Secretary G Mohan Kumar and other senior officials of Army and paramilitary forces briefed Rajnath on the prevailing situation in the state following the terror strike
