Urdu unites society, connects people: Akhilesh Yadav

 Urdu is a language which unites the society and connects people and it has been the endeavour of 'Samajwadis' to estbalish unity in the society through languages, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said today. "Urdu and Hindi compliment each other as both the langugaes use each other's without any hitch," he said at a function organised by Urdu Academy to felicitate students who have topped in Urdu subject in high school and intermediate examination at district level.

"The government always makes efforts to ensure that all languages are respected," he said. He said that two-and-a-half years back when SP came to power all awards given in different languages were stopped, but the government revived them and now scholars were being felicitated. Akhilesh said rapid technological changes were taking place in the world and in such a situation language plays a big role in protecting the culture.

He said that by distributing laptops the SP government reduced digital divide in the society. "Now children of even a poor person can select path of his or her progress by using internet," he said.
Akhilesh said that in the changing scenario use of internet was proving to be very effective and the government was making all efforts to promote education. He said that the government was continuously working for the uplift of all sections of the society. Minority Welfare and Urban Development Minister Mohd Azam Khan said the SP government was promoting Urdu language and was making all efforts for its growth.
