Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath said a delegation of experts from London would visit India next year to share their expertise for the benefit of Indian cities.
Nath extended the invitation after a meeting with Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
"London has very successfully been able to have a lot of regeneration. One of the ideas we are trying is transit- oriented development and London has gone ahead with this," Nath said and suggested Indian cities could learn from the example.
Nath said a delegation from London, including experts from various disciplines, would visit India in early 2013 and there would be specific discussion on issues like transport, metro and other areas related to urban development.
Johnson said the discussion today were very "fruitful" and hoped for a positive engagement with India and Delhi.
