For a second day running, Rajya Sabha proceedings were washed out owing to disruptions by members of Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi over the misuse of CBI against TMC-led West Bengal government. The House was adjourned twice due to the disruptions.

In Lok Sabha too, the proceedings began amid disruptions by members of TMC and Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had to adjourn proceedings thrice. Later in the day after 2.30pm, Lok Sabha took up the Motion of Thanks to the President for discussion.

In Rajya Sabha, after papers were tabled in the House in the morning, chairman M Venkaiah Naidu read out the list of business as decided by the business advisory committee and informed the House that ten hours were allotted for discussion on the motion of thanks on President’s address. Soon after, TMC MP Derek O’Brien requested the chair to have a debate on the notice moved by him on the CBI issue.

TMC members did not heed the requests of the chair and rushed to the Well, chanting slogans prompting the chairman to adjourn.
