The incident was reported from Hasanpur area in Hathras district. The victim told the police that about six months ago she had gone to the forest to collect woods where a man raped her on gun-point. He threatened her to eliminate her and family if she ever shared the incident with anyone.
Fearing death threat, the girl did not tell her parents. But when she got pregnant, she told her mother about her rape. When the rapist came to know about her pregnancy, he barged into her house on July 13 and forced her on gun-point to take oral pills to terminate the five-month-old pregnancy.
She bled a lot on Thursday at home and the pregnancy was terminated. But she kept the aborted fetus and came to the Hasanpur Police Station along with her mother to lodge an FIR against the accused.
The police were shocked when she opened the bag and showed the terminated fetus emanating foul smell. “We have lodged an FIR against the accused and sent the girl and the fetus for medical examination to verify her charges,” said SC Gautam, the SHO Hasanpur Police Station.
The SHO said that they had taken opinion from the Superintendent of the Community Health Centre about the shocking case of rape and abortion. The CHC Superintendent Dr A.K. Varu told the police it termination of five or six-month-old pregnancy requires surgical intervention and it was not possible through oral pills.
“We are awaiting medical examination reports to reach some conclusion before acting on her complaint,” said the SHO.
