A minor girl was allegedly raped and threatened by an Assistant Professor in a private engineering college in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.

The accused Deepak Saxena, who was also running a coaching Institute, has been arrested on the complaint of parents. A case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act has been registered against him.

The parents of the victim came to know about the incident when the minor girl got pregnant and her condition deteriorated. Parents were shocked when the doctors, who attended on her, told that the girl was seven-month pregnant.

When they enquired from their daughter, she told her tale of woes. The victim was a student of Saxena’s coaching classes. He first sexually assaulted her on November 17, 2017 in the institute after forcing her to stay back. When the 15-year-old High School student objected, he threatened to kill her parents.

Sharing her rape ordeal, the girl told her parents that she was being raped by the ‘Sir’ in the institute premises for the past many months. “He had threatened me to kill my family if I objected and reported the matter to anyone. I got scared and never told you,” said she.

When the doctors refused abortion due to advance stage pregnancy and risk involved, parents lodged a complaint with the police which arrested the accused.

On the other hand, the Assistant Professor and Owner of the coaching Institute pleaded not guilty before the police when arrested. “The girl was taking English classes in my coaching but I never touched her,” he said.

The police have sent the girl for the medical examination after registering a case and arresting the Assistant Professor. The statement of the victim was also recorded by the police.

“We have arrested the accused and registered a case against him under POCSO Act and Sections 376 of the IPC. Investigations are underway and will slap more charges against the accused,” said a senior police official.
