Four accused in a gangrape case, threw acid on the 30-year old victim after she refused to give in to the pressure drop the charges, reports The Indian Express.
The incident happened within the City Kotwali police station area. The acid was thrown on victim's face and neck."They tied my husband to a tree and threw acid on me. They raped me earlier and when I complained, they started troubling us," the victim said.
An FIR has been lodged by the police. “The victim has said that the accused were pressuring her to withdraw the case. When she refused, they poured acid on her, causing burns on her face and neck,” SP (City) Bulandshahr, Maan Singh Chauhan, said. "We’ve registered a complaint against people who raped her & will provide full protection to victim. Investigation is underway," he said.

Surjeet, Paramjeet and Veerpal and an unidentified man are named as accused.
The police initially did not file an FIR but after the incident occurred on August 9. They did so on September 2 after the court intervened.
