Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Narendra Modi over his 'raincoat' jibe and 'jokes' remark saying, Prime Minister likes to peep into bathrooms of people.
Without naming, Modi on Friday had said that the maximum number of jokes that one will find online were made on the ministers of the grand old party.
Addressing the media after releasing a Common Minimum Programme (CMP) at a joint press conference with Akhilesh Yadav, in Lucknow, Rahul Gandhi said, "Modi likes to read 'janampatri', search Google and peep into bathrooms of people...but he is a failure as PM"
Modi will get a jolt from results of UP polls, he added.
"We want a government for the youth, one that has vision. These ten points in the joint programme are foundations of development," Rahul said talking about the CMP.
Stating that it is not good to have too much anger, Akhilesh Yadav also hit out at PM Modi saying, "The anger shows that he is losing sand from beneath of his feet. No need for emotions and anger...these are elections for growth and prosperity of the state," he added.
"PM and BJP should not 'mislead' people and come forward and tell what they have given to the state which has elected all prominent NDA leaders," Akhilesh said.
Akhilesh also expressed happiness with the initial voting trend in the first phase of polling and said, "First votes went to SP-Cong alliance and so alliance will be ahead."
Meanwhile, clearing the air about the differences between the alliance over a few seats, Rahul said, "On 99% of 403 seats there is no problem. Issues being resolved on remaining seats"
"We are fighting polls together...wrong to say there is no coordination in alliance," Rahul added.
Smartphones, skill development, free cycles and homes for the poor were among the key points in SP-Congress joint programme.
